Concealed Carry Permits.  The process is easier than you think.

Learning the laws regulating the use of firearms is a must for responsible ownership. It is the applicant’s responsibility to know Federal, state, local city and county laws and ordinances pertaining to carrying a concealed weapon and weapon usage.

In California, The Sheriff and his staff are required to follow strict state and local guidelines when performing the necessary background checks for issuing Concealed Carry Weapon licenses. Due to the detailed nature involved with conducting these background checks, appointment times and processing times can take multiple months.

This webpage will guide you through the Amador County Sheriff’s Office Concealed Carry Weapons license application process.

  • Applicants will have the ability to submit New, Renewal, Modification and Duplicate applications.
  • Applicants will have the ability to pay their non-refundable application fees online.
  • Applicants will have the ability to schedule appointments to submit NEW Carry Concealed Weapons license applications.
    • Appointments for NEW CCW licenses will be available on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Applicants will be able to track the progress of their application through the Online Order Tracker (please make a note of the email address and password you enter on your application, for this purpose). https://amadorsoca.permitium.com/order_tracker
  • Applicants will be able to select the method of notification they prefer regarding status updates and all correspondence related to their Concealed Carry license application as it moves through the process.
    • Notification options are email, text message or automated phone call.
